This is another long video ( 57 min.), but it is a "must watch". It is fairly comprehensive. Did you know that there is a difference between fat and stress fat? Pleas watch it. But, don't let it scare you because the good news is that there are ways to deal with stress. In fact, there are better and more effective way than you will see in the video. I will post them next time.
Presently, I am working on my master's degree in psychology. Right now we are learning about stress and stress management. In the text it is stated that everyone experiences stress and we experience it so often that it seems that we get used to it (Ziegler,2014).  In my own research I have found that to be true. When we experience acute stress often, and/or live in chronic stress situations like an abusive marriage or caretaking a sick loved one, our body adapts to it and we may no longer feel it. Even though we do not feel it, those destructive stress hormones continue to pump throughout the body in the blood stream keeping the organism in an "alert" state. While in that state, all it's resources are are dedicated (being used) and are not available to build and maintain itself...and breakdown ensues.

Note: I found a study that was done to describe the phenomenon of stress overload as a nursing diagnosis: "Stressoverload, defined as excessive amounts and types of demands that require action, is a human response that is experienced as a problem and contributes to the development of other problems". The results of the study showed that it, indeed, caused many other problems (Lunney,2006).
