As I often mention in this blog I am presently in a master's program in psychology so I'm in the process of learning new things. According to our text:" personality refers to enduring characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that make a person unique". There are several theories out there on personality development, from Sigmund Freud and one of his disciples, Erik Erikson both of whom  both saw personality development as the result of unconscious forces. to humanist psychologists who emphasize self-actualization and cognitive-oriented psychologists who focus on how people view the world.(Ziegler,2014). There are also the Trait theorists who attribute personality to biological or genetic processes. In future postings I will put up videos and comments on all of these, and maybe other.

This video discusses how the unconscious mind influences and drives the personality. The speaker, Dr. Najeeb features Sigmund Freud and Eric Erikson...very interesting.
